About VIN Ledger USA

VIN Ledger USA is a free, searchable archive of vehicles sold at US auto auctions.

Every year, many vehicles are sold at US auto auctions after an accident, flood, theft or other damage, and many of them are later repaired, exported or resold. The auction record shows what the vehicle looked like at the time of the sale.

For each vehicle we publish one page with the photos from the sale, the reported damage, the odometer reading, the last bid and the sale date, and we decode the VIN with the US government's public vehicle database so you can check the specification.

Who uses it

• Buyers checking what a used car looked like before it was repaired.
• Importers and dealers comparing prices of similar vehicles.
• Owners looking up the history of their own vehicle.

What we are not

VIN Ledger USA is an independent website. We are not an auction, we do not sell vehicles, and we are not affiliated with any auction house. A record here is not a full vehicle history report. Before you buy, always get an independent inspection and an official history report.
